Last week I was guest in three birthday parties. Two of them celebrating the same guy. Very nice. On Thursday I gave him a card depicting a charicature of...MmmmmSchwarzenegger and when he opened the card a voice said: "HI! I HOPE YOU`LL HAVE A BIRTHDAY THAT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! IF NOT... -I`LL BE BACK!"* So on Saturday I was back for his second party. That was fun.

I am also back in the creative mode and working till late night making illustrations. Lately I have only worked at the shop and at the newspaper, but last week I got a new project that was due today. So I worked last night till 3 am. The creative time for me I guess. Hehe.

*(If I have upset any Scharzenegger fans, I apologize. That was never my intention and I hope we can have a productive dialouge)

Well, well, well. Would you know. I finally took the extra five minutes to update and even expand my artwork album. Check it out!

Lately I have been living two lives with two identities. I am Biltema Øystein at daytime and Øystein the illustration kid at night. I have come to the conclusion that there is too few hours in a day. I am glad that the night can give me a hand once in a while. And here I am, blessed, taking in all the experience and really, really tired!

For all of you who didn't get the chance to see my illustration about blogging (I never get around to look in the newspaper myself), here is the solution I came up with in the end:

The newspaper were pleased with the illustrations. And when the magazine is published, you will also be able to see them here.

They were so pleased, that they gave me another comission today. That's cool. It's quite funny. The article they want illustrated, is about blogging. Anyone have any ideas to how to illustrate this? I thought so :) Deadline is this wednesday.

I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be creative and receive exciting projects. Again: thank you, Lord!

Hallelujah! It's done! Stayed up till 3.30 am to finish the illustrations. And now the time is 8.30. Well, I may have had four and a half hours sleep. But it feels like four. The best part of this, is, that I in the end am quite pleased with the result. But now I need to get to work at Biltema.

I love challenges. Now I have really big one in front of me. It's the same challenge I have had all week: Illustrate for the magazine supplement in the newspaper. I am scared because some how I feel out of my depts. This is in many ways the next step in my career. I hope I will be moving on to more magazine design and Publishing illustrations.

I have been absent from my blog last week (let's hope the blog don't feel too deprieved for comments and posts).
The reason for this neglection are many, but I can summarise the week with the word "full". Full of experiences. Full of surprises. Full of projects. And full of challenges.

Last week I found a flower at my door, with a note saying: "I can't stop thinking about you". That's nice. The only trouble is, I don't know who gave it to me!! I have a secret admirer who knows my address, so the chances are high that I know this girl fairly well. But who is this girl who can't stop thinking about me??!!!??

Last week the wedding invitation was finally finished and on Sunday I was able to receive my invitation to the wedding. Therese and Tomas were very pleased with the final design. They also received many compliments from people, on how the invitation looked. That made me very glad

This evening I have been working on Therese and Tomas' Wedding invitation. I am getting pleased with it now. I am pleased with the fact that the design is interesting (I think anyway). A bit "arty" and different from the norm even in comparison to fancy design invitation. Best of all is that Tomas and Therese are pleased too. That made me very happy, because the design can be described as a bit "risky". But when even Tomas' parents approved, all is well...

The invitation have to be handed out very soon, so I need to work hard to make it finish. Hopefully I can hand it over to Tormod on Monday. He will take care of the printing. Then you curious folks also can take a look.
